Mercedes Bertotto is a Doctor of Engineering and Food Scientist with a wealth of experience in data analysis, chemometrics, and model optimization. She specializes in machine learning, feature selection, preprocessing, and exploratory data analysis. Her work at Wageningen University & Research focused on optimizing predictive models through chemometric and spectroscopic data analysis. In addition, her role at Argentina’s National Reference Laboratory provided her with a solid foundation in international standards, where she led projects centered around vibrational spectroscopy. Mercedes is also skilled in experimental design, sample preparation, and conducting measurements with NIR and hyperspectral imaging equipment. She has taught chemometrics at the University of Buenos Aires and has published in several peer-reviewed journals. Her passion lies in applying NIR, FTIR, and Raman spectroscopy to develop innovative solutions for the food and pharmaceutical industries.
Justina Bertotto holds a degree in International Relations from the University of Buenos Aires, an MBA in Strategic Management from the University of KwaZulu-Natal, a specialization in Reservoir Engineering from the University of Buenos Aires, a Master’s in Information Technology from Universidad CAECE, and a Short MBA in Energy Management from IFP School. She brings extensive experience in international business, strategic communications, and creative problem-solving, with expertise in the oil and gas industry. Justina is currently the Director of Business Development at SoftLab, where she has spent over 24 years providing software-based engineering solutions for the oil and gas sector. Her work focuses on protecting investments and promoting growth by addressing the intelligent management of information and technology-driven business processes.
In conclusion, chemometrics is a powerful tool for extracting meaningful insights from complex spectral data, making it invaluable for industries where precision and accuracy are critical. It enables the development of predictive models, the optimization of processes, and the identification of key patterns within vast datasets, particularly in vibrational spectroscopy applications.
